CallHistoryCount (COUNT): is a counter value maintained by the roaming MS, home AC, and, if local authentication is enabled, the visited VLR. It provides a mechanism for detecting cloned mobile stations, especially when SSD and/or A-key values have been compromised. The COUNT value provided by the roaming MS is compared with the one maintained by the AC to determine whether they are consistent. A mismatch suggests that a clone may exist but is not necessarily conclusive since RF transmission issues may result in occasional minor mismatches. However, there should not be large or frequent deltas between these values.
