A distance-to-radius (D/R) ratio is a parameter used to describe the reuse factor for a wireless system. The D/R ratio for any wireless system determines the reuse factor as welt as the distance between the reusing cell sites and of course the radii of the serv¬ing cell sires. Figure 4.2 and the Table below illustrate standard D/R ratios for different frequency reuse patterns, N.

Its nothing but the geographical distance that is required between the calls using identical frequency to avoid interference between the radio transmissions of the cells.
