Simple router is the devise of wired network and wireless router is a wireless device performing routing

A "wireless" router is actually wired to the modem and your Internet connection but then communicates wirelessly with the other computers on your network.
A simple Router is a device that goes in between your modem and your computer (or Network of Computers) and shares the Internet connection to as many computers as you like using a process called NAT.
