when we on the switch it will go POST .If it fails then Amber light "on"

It is basically light emitting diode and it is used to indicate the the state of any switch which shows that it is on or at the off condition as well it shows the communication is going on or not as well

LED is light emiting diode & on switch it indicate on/0ff states or also do blinking for incoming and outgoing data.

An amber LED indicates that the switch line card has shut itself off. This could occur if the switch line card has overheated, or failed its self-test. Check the switch line card data to know more details on the problem.
