standard access list
extended access list.

There are two types of access-lists
1) Standard access list
2) Extended access list
Standard access-list rely on destination ip address and extended access list rely on source & destination ip address, protocols with various port numbers to allow and deny the packet to to pass through the router.
Standard access list applies near to the destination and extended access list applies near to the source of the packet.
