Sometimes when we receive an international call then we recieve the calling number as 4 digits prefix with +sign. How the MSCs mapped that number

In short Translations and Routing on each switch, call for International will go to International Translation specific to a Orig Route Modifier or Digit Fence which is mapped to a route. All international routing by default is mapped to + or the international code of that specific entry. bottom line every switch operator lucent or alcatel or huawei has a provision for this type of calling number which is mandatory
