Internet Explorer 6 makes it pretty much impossible to delete history ...
1 right click on internet explorer
2 then open the properties
3 chose clear history
4 yes
5 applay
6 ok

From the General tab, you can delete cookies and/or temporary Internet files. Cookies are text files placed on your computer by the web sites you visit, and they store information about your preferences when you visit. Temporary Internet files sore graphics and web pages as you view them. I’m not aware of deleting history on exit.
