you can also disable
1. Click Start.
2. Click Run.
3. Type Firewall.cpl, and then click OK.
4. On the General tab, click Off (not recommended).
5. Click OK.

Disable Windows Firewall in Windows XP SP2:
Note By turning off the firewall, you leave your computer open to attack. Therefore, before you turn off your firewall, disconnect your computer from all networks. This includes the Internet.
To disable Windows Firewall, follow these steps:

In control panel just open windows firewall and turn off it

First click START and go to control panel. Then click network and internet connections. Go to windows firewall and CLICK OFF. Finally click OK.
