SS7 protocols consists of several protocols which are called user parts and application parts.

For call connection and disconnection we used user parts protocols as TUP.
OMAP is rely on applications entity thats why application parts used.

Because User part of protocols are associated with users and application part is solely concern with the application that are running at the background.
For example in SS7 protocol we have application part and user part such as Signaling
Connection Control Part (SCCP), Telephone User Part (TUP), ISDN User Part (ISUP), Intelligent Network Application Protocol (INAP).
