IS-95 is a TIA (Telecommunications Industry Association) standard for North American cellular systems based on CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) which are found within North America and Asia. IS-95a is often referred to as cdmaOne™ which is capable of supporting voice and data at 14.4Kbps where as IS-95b is capable of supporting data rates up to 115Kbps.
