To receive calls, a mobile telephone is notified of an incoming call by a process called paging.A pageis a control channel message which contains the telephone's Mobile Identification Number(MIN ir telephone number of the desired mobile phone) and it responds automatically with a system access message of a type called a page Resonse. This indacates that an incoming call is to be received. After the mobile telephone recerives its'own telephone number, the mobile telephone begins to ring. When the customer answers the call (user presses SEND),the mobile telephone transmits a service request to the system to answer the call. It does this by sending the telephone number and an electronic serial number to provide the users identity.it responds to the page by attempting access to the system.
