A Narrow-Band Advanced Mobile Phone System (NAMPS) is used in the United States, Latin America, and other parts of the world. The NAMP is an analog radio system. It is simi¬lar to AMPS with the exception that it utilizes 10-kHz-wide voice channels instead of the standard 30-kHz channels. Also it is three times the capacity of regular AMPS.
