U have a Cisco router set to the default encapsulation. U connect it to a Juniper router running HDLC encapsulation. Y r the two routers unable to communicate?

In general the Cisco's HDLC contains a proprietary data field that makes it incompatible with other vendor's implementation of HDLC.
