NetHawk EAST, Environment for Automated
System Test, is a VoIP capable testing platform
designed to simulate and performance test an
extensive list of VoIP technologies in advanced
communication networks. The most popular
technologies supported include SIP, RTP/RTCP,
Megaco (H.248) and MGCP. NetHawk EAST also
supports security testing with protocols such as
TLS, IPsec, and COPS with DQoS. NetHawk
EAST can be deployed to evaluate SIP presence
applications and media quality performance of
equipment and networks. PoC (Push to Talk over
Cellular) is an example of a presence application
that can be deployed in the IP Multimedia
Subsystem (IMS). Voice quality methods include
PESQ, PAMS and PSQM for live and post
monitoring analysis. For video testing, NetHawk
EAST supports H.263 and H.264 decoding.
