Messenger Service is a network-based system notification service included in some versions of Microsoft Windows.
Using the Messenger Service in Windows gives you varying results that depend on the command options or interface you use to send messages.

The messenger service is not windows messenger. The Messenger service is the net send command and alerter service messages sent between clients and servers. Intend was for system administrators to notify their windows network clients about network activity, now folks use for spam and potential viruses.
