Founded in 2004, PINC is headquartered in Berkeley, California. PINC has pioneered the use of passive RFID and MEMS-based sensors in determining the position of items, eliminating the needs for heavy, up-front infrastructure. With seed funding from Siemens TTB Center, a catalyst for technology innovation, PINC established operations and developed its early product concepts. PINC Solutions has received venture backing from Sutter Hill Ventures in 2006; and again in 2007 in a round lead by Horizon Ventures which also included Sutter Hill.
