Based in the Research Triangle Park in North Carolina, Hatteras Networks came into existence to develop equipment to enable carriers and service providers to deliver high-bandwidth reliable business services to business locations that are not served by fiber. This large opportunity is fueled by the very large bandwidth and services gap that currently exists between a traditional T1/E1 service and next-generation fiber-based services.
