Telematics Systems, by combining communication and information technologies have opened up a host of services for the end user. For example an enterprise AVL system connects subscriber with an automated web and phone system which can unlock the car door if the keys are locked inside, track a stolen vehicle, or provide dispatching services. Development of a host of these applications are often times beset with a host of business challenges and technological impediments. The wireless industries adopt both proprietary and open standards. This means, different mobile devices relay data over different networks. The business challenges lies in developing a generic software for seamless integration with different devices while maintaining uniform data delivery to the customer.
