After working in the US Steel Homestead Works for seven months in 1976, Jim Kapp decided that there had to be a better way. He went to a local Pittsburgh Electrical Technical School and graduated in 1978 as an electrician. From the first day after graduation, he started Kapp Electric Company. In 1982 the steel mills were going through another recession (just like the one in 1976), and all of the electrical steel workers laid off were taking away most of the electrical business available.

Jason Buchanan began his telecommunications career in 1993. After eight years, the last several as top producer, his employer began phasing out its telecommunications department. With an extreme passion for the industry and a dream to drive technology into the future, Jason began his own company in 2001. During the inception of Business Communications Solutions, Jason worked diligently out of his home office wearing the hats of sales manager, service technician, scheduler, and office manager. As he developed and grew the company he focused on providing solutions for traditional and voice over IP telephone systems for customers ranging from five to five hundred telephones. In 2002 Jason moved BCS from his home office to an office on Evansville’s west side to accommodate four new employees, a service fleet, and growing inventory. Shortly thereafter he opened an Owensboro satellite office to service Kentucky based customers. By 2005 BCS expanded its staff again and moved to its current office location on Evansville’s east side with nine employees. Currently BCS provides services for Vodavi, 3COM, Nortel,& Toshiba telephone systems along with voice, data and fiber optic cabling, wireless network connections, cable testing and certification, and overhead paging and sound.

Bay Telephone Systems, Inc. is a privately held telecommunications company that has been serving the Metropolitan Washington, Maryland, and Virginia areas since 1999. We offer the latest technology in telephone and voice mail systems and data network installation. In 2004 Bay Telephone merged with Global Interconnect and in 2006 began servicing RMV Global Communications customers. The expanded company has allowed us to increase our staff for improved customer service and to offer a wider selection of phone systems.
