Now celebrating its fifteenth year of operation, Illinois Valley Cellular is devoted to providing excellent cellular service to the people of North Central Illinois. The company serves Illinois RSA 2, an eight county area running from the Indiana state line to south of Chicago, to near Peoria, Illinois and then on towards the Iowa state line. The RSA (Rural Service Area) represents over 250,000 population. Serving the counties of LaSalle, Bureau, Putnam, Marshall, Stark, Livingston, Ford and Iroquois. Original owners of the system included several local telephone companies: Mid Century Telephone, Leonore Mutual Telephone, MTCO, and Tonica Telephone. These companies have stockholders who have lived and worked throughout the local area for generations.
