Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research, Pune, was founded with the collective efforts of many devoted experts having long and outstanding academic experience in the field of professional education. MGM's College of Engineering and Technology (MGMCET) is governed by Mahatma Gandhi Mission, a Charitable Trust, registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950 and Societies Registration Act 1860. Since its inception in 1982 Mahatma Gandhi Mission has developed into an excellent educational group and is totally committed to human resource development. MGM has now a chain of Engineering, Medical, Nursing, Management, Dental, Physiotherapy, Science, Journalism and Fine Arts colleges spread over four educational centers, Navi Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nanded and Noida. In continuation of its proud tradition of enriching the human resource needs of the country, the Mission has set up in 1986, our institute MGM's College of Engineering & Technology, Kamothe, Navi Mumbai.

JNEC was established in 1983 under the aegis of Mahatma Gandhi Mission Trust lead by Chairman Kamalkishor Kadam having got his Engineering Education from IIT Mumbai. He had also been education minister of Maharashtra. The Foundation Stone of existing JNEC building was laid through the hands Hon Shri Sharad Pawar, then the Chief Minister, of Maharashtra on Nov 14,1985. * College is run by Trust called Mahatma Gandhi Mission. * Approved By AICTE. * Affiliated to Dr B.A.M. The Pravara Rural Education Society grew, fostered and evolved during the life time of Padmashri Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil. After him all the multifarious and multifaceted activities initiated by him are continued and infact, taken to greater height by the illustrious son Hon'ble Shri. E.V. alias Balasaheb Vikhe Patil, a veteran and Public Enterprises, Govt. Of India. The Seed laid by the Padmashriji is bloosming into sylvan symphony with a large chain of educational institutions through the meticulous planning and dynamic leadership of Shri Balasaheb Vikhe Patil 'the worthy son of worthy father'.

Padmabhooshan Vasantraodada Patil Institute of Technology, Budhgaon has been established in the year September 1983. by late Shri. Padmabhooshan Vasantraodada Patil (Ex. Chief Minister of Maharashtra State & Ex. Governor of Rajasthan state). The College is located at Budhgaon about 10 km. from Sangli city. COEP's precursor, The Poona Engineering Class and Mechanical School was opened in July 1854, its aim being to provide suitable instruction for subordinate officers in the Public Works Department.
