In 2001, Baby Bells merged with New Millennium Technologies, a central Virginia Internet data center, to create NET Telcos, the largest Virginia-based carrier-neutral integrator for disaster recover, managed services, and firewall services. After rapid growth, NET Telcos joined Continental Broadband in 2005, a managed network services provider operating in nine major metropolitan markets (Pittsburgh, Chicago, Cleveland, Boston, Baltimore, South Florida, Indianapolis, Richmond and Hampton Roads, Virginia), providing access to a network of geographically diverse networks and datacenter. NET Telcos serves as the official hosting provider of the Greater Richmond Technology Council (GRTC) and has been recognized as one of the "Rising 25" and "Fantastic 50" companies in Virginia.
