Established in 1954, Egyptian Telephone Cooperative Association provides superior telecommunications services to approximately 3,000 member-subscribers in seven exchanges in Southern Illinois. The cooperative’s service area covers the following rural areas: Baldwin (785), Blair (774), Glenn (763), Oakdale (329), Rice (336), St. Libory (768), and Venedy (824). Webster’s Dictionary defines a cooperative as: “an enterprise or organization owned by and operated for the benefit of those using its services.” In keeping with that spirit, Egyptian Telephone Cooperative Association is owned locally by its members, and has a sincere commitment to serving its members and their hometowns. Egyptian works together with its members in order to meet their needs and create a better community. Members of Egyptian Telephone Cooperative Association are represented by a local 9 member board of directors.
