Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA)

The TRA is charged with promoting and balancing the interests of subscribers and other users, and promoting effective and fair competition among new and existing licensed operators. The TRA is required to carry out its duties and exercise its powers in a non-discriminatory and transparent manner. A board, appointed by His Majesty the King, Shaikh Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, oversees the TRA, the day-to-day functioning of which vests in a General Director.
